The questionnaire was distributed to 690 male students and 690 parents at a middle school in Busan in order to identify their understanding of the music therapy event conducted on Oct. 30,2004. Before and after studies were used. The questionnaire before the music therapy event (the prior questionnaire) was carried out from Oct. 1 to 30,2004 and the questionnaire after the music therapy event (the post questionnaire) from Nov. 5 to 20,2004. The results of the study are summarized below. 27.6% of parents were already acquainted with the music therapy concept. 54.3% of parents had heard of it and 59.4% responded that music therapy was necessary in consideration of its effects. Moreover, 64.0% of parents answered that they would recommend the music therapy for their children if their children were selected to be subjects of music therapy. Next, when the thoughts of students and parents on the importance of music therapy were compared, the parents were found to be more interested in music therapy than the students (p<.001). Also, the awareness of students was higher than that of the parents in regard to the effects of music therapy (p<.001). In conclusion, the understanding of male students about music therapy was improved through brief participation in intramural music therapy and their intention to enroll in music therapy was also enhanced. Furthermore, the parents recognized the importance of music therapy for the fostering of emotional health in their children. Moreover, the parents demonstrated more interest in the music therapy than the students. The study thus suggests that a variety of music therapies and research need to be done to cultivate the emotional health of teenagers.}, pages = {1--10}, title = {韓国中学生の健全な情緒育成における音楽治療の効果}, volume = {5}, year = {2005} }
