The procedure consisted of reflecting personally on the fourth year of teaching practice. Teaching practice students were formed into pairs. Each student annotated videos of his/her own lessons and videos of the lessons of the other student in the pair. Each student then reflected on his/her own lessons and compiled criticisms of the other student's lessons based on points which were unclear or which could be improved. It appeared that teaching practice students'views on education, educational materials and children could be brought out by comparing and contrasting each student's annotations and considering his/her personal reflections and criticisms.
