The following subjects are thought to be covered the welfare science:first, concerning the support of victims, （１） survey on the actual health, medical and welfare states of drug-induced victims and （２） research on the support of such victims including ①their needs and the processes to meet them, ②their organizations and actions, and ③the ways to support them;second, regarding the preventive social welfare, （１） social scientific research on the factors that cause the outbreak and the expansion of drug-induced sufferings, and （２） research on the prevention and the eradication thereof. There are so many important tasks concerning the issue of research and education on these problems in the fields of welfare science, and therefore it is strongly expected to establish and improve appropriate research institutes and to promote education nationwide in
